Well today's our section's day off. A day off from what(I don't do much anyways), you ask? I think it has something to do with local religious days or something.
Today I decided we would have brunch, since we managed to secure ourselves some eggs. Should be interesting being that I gotta cook it on a charcoal BBQ. I realized that we had the skillet plate for it, so that why I wanted to have eggs today. The CF just doesn't do eggs justice and well the cooks overall haven't really impressed me or any of the other guys.
I think it just may be the only trade in the military that to succeed, you have to fail at your job. Don't get me wrong it cannot be easy to cook for 300 people, but come on; how hard can it be to cook something as simple as potatoes. I know its hard to believe but it's true. And the ribs, well that' another story.
The cooks I had in Inuvik and Jamaica were second to none, even though they were not cooking for 300.
On another note, I tried some of the local cuisine. I had got some naan bread from the locals and it was pretty good. They don't use rolling pins, apprently they use their feet to flatten it. No big deal for me, I guess feet taste good, that and the heat from cooking it probably killed anything spore-like. :)
Well that's all I have to write for now.
Up and at them!
